This Site is undergoing Major Renovation
I am in the process of rebuidling this site but progress is slow. I have also been experiencing problems with my hosting service. Please be patient. I will continue to post new pictures to the site as it exists, while I work on an alternate concept. Thanks to all who have sent pictures and other memorabilia. More pictures, copies of orders, and other documents related to the 7th TDS and the 400th MMS are always welcome.

7th TDS Lighter

This lighter was found recently in a gift shop in Okinawa, Japan by Mr. Tashio Takagi. Thanks to Mr. Takagi for e-mailing these photos to us and allowing them to be posted on this site. The gift shop owner explained to Mr. Takagi that the lighter was made by the original shop owner (his father) as part of an order for a representative from the 7th TDS in 1960. The owner's father made some additional lighters probably with the expectation that he could sell more to squadron members. This lighter was never sold. Squadron members remember that these lighters were presented to squadron personnel upon departure from Okinawa. They were purchased using profits from the squadron snack bar.
